Founding[edit]

SEDS@UCF was founded in 1988 by Jim Brice to serve as the UCF chapter for the national Students for the Exploration and Development of Space organization. While striving to fulfill our national mission, the goal of our chapter has been simple from the start: give UCF students the resources and tools they need to explore, join, and lead in the space industry.

In the years since our founding, our organization has undertaken countless projects, designed numerous rockets, competed in hundreds of competitions, and pushed UCF students to the bleeding edge of space exploration and development, all while maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all involved.

Through it's history, SEDS@UCF has undertaken numerous projects - both successful and not. Unfortunately throughout the years we've lost information, causing projects to fall into the dark. As we rediscover them, we do our best to document these projects to highlight the achievements of our alumni.

SEDS@UCF holds it's elections in the Spring of each year. Members of all experience and skills levels are invited to run for positions where they believe they can make the largest difference in the future of the club. These positions offer unique opportunities to grow your skills in leadership and networking, while providing the chance to see your actions make a difference.
